‘Step mother is a cruel being’, this is what we have been reading and watching since childhood. Whether it’s mere Cinderella story or a prime time serial, step mother is always presented and considered as an abominable character in our society but Teri Berukhi, drama serial on Geo Entertainment is breaking this perception. Sometimes step mother could become more loving and responsible than real mother.
Teri Berukhi is the story of middle aged married couple Numair and Aleena. Numair is a businessman who remains busy with his office work whereas Aleena spend her days hanging out with friends and evenings usually in kitty parties. Life was moving peacefully until their children, Anooshey and Areeb stepped into teenage. The couple starts facing domestic disputes. As they say, teenage is a delicate age that can create or ruin kid’s character and parent’s arguments could affect their personality immensely. The same happens in their life and soon the neglected children becomes defiant that further deteriorate the sacred relationship of husband and wife. The day to day argument takes a serious turn and one day Numair pronounces divorce to Aleena.
The separated couple moves in life, Aleena gets married followed by Numair’s wedding with Shahtaj, a simple woman who later proves to be a loving wife and responsible mother. She soon led Anooshay and Areeb to the right path and saves them from ill doings. The bond of love between Shahtaj, Anooshay and Areeb binds Numair as well and he gradually grows feelings for Shahtaj. The same feelings reverted back by her which strengthens their relation and soon Shahtaj becomes favorite step mother and wife.
Once broken family is now a complete family whereas Aleena get hurts by her new husband. The story takes a turn when she decides to come back to Numair. Will Numair accept her? Will Anooshay and Areeb accept her as mother? What will be Shahtaj’s reaction? The drama is a complete family story revolves around the problems families faced within, highlighting the relationship of parents with their children and behavior of kids with their parents. The story is written by Seema Munaf, Directed by Mohsin Mirza and produced under the banner of AB Entertainment. However, lead characters are played by Savera Ayesha Nadeem, Shahood Alvi and Sumbul Iqbal.
